Fredrick County Commissioner Calling For Fines On Employers Of Illegal Aliens

By Digger

Charles Jenkins, Frederick Maryland County Commissioner, is expected to introduce legislation that would fine people who get building permits and hire illegal aliens.

Business groups are coming out against Jenkins saying that there are already laws on the books for dealing with employers of illegal aliens. We see how good those laws are enforced though. Maybe if those same business groups got behind enforcement taken against employers of illegal aliens people would take them a little more seriously, and local officials wouldn’t have to keep putting forth ordinances and legislation, but we know that will never happen.

Frederick County Commissioner Charles Jenkins is calling for penalties for local businesses that hire illegal immigrants. He is talking to the county attorney about a plan to audit local businesses that receive building permits from the county. Under his proposal, businesses that use illegal workers could be fined and the workers would be fired.

Jenkins expects to introduce formal legislation by early next month.
